The Mid-Level Graphic Designer supports Bob’s Discount Furniture’s marketing and brand initiatives by producing visually engaging designs across digital and print media. In this temporary role, you’ll collaborate with art directors and cross-functional teams to create high-impact marketing campaigns, seasonal visuals, and brand assets that enhance our omni-channel presence.

This hybrid position allows flexibility, combining remote work with on-site collaboration at our Manchester, CT headquarters.

Core Competencies & Expertise

  • Creative Design Execution: Develop print and digital designs that support marketing campaigns, ensuring on-brand visuals and accurate production files.
  • Digital & Print Production: Create and prepare digital assets (email campaigns, display ads, social media content, broadcast graphics) and print materials (flyers, posters, in-store signage).
  • Brand Consistency: Maintain and reinforce brand identity across all touchpoints and channels.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner with art directors, marketing, and cross-functional teams to align design outcomes with campaign goals.
  • Project & Time Management: Balance multiple design requests and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.

Preferred Competencies & Skills

  • 3–5 years of professional graphic design experience, with a portfolio that includes both print and digital work
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong aesthetic judgment, typography, and layout skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong collaboration
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Bonus: Experience in retail, e-commerce, or the furniture industry

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in print and digital design
  • Technology: Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office

Work Environment

This is a hybrid temporary position with both remote and in-office collaboration. Designers work closely with marketing leadership, art directors, and creative teams to execute seasonal campaigns and ongoing branding projects. The environment encourages creative problem-solving and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer and using a mouse/keyboard
  • Ability to view detailed digital designs for extended periods
  • May occasionally lift up to 15 pounds (e.g., printed materials or design boards)
