The Freelance Designer role is a flexible resource for the design team at Spark451. They possess a functional understanding of the tools, process, and tactics behind various media channels.
This role is responsible for building out (as well as implementing requested edits and occasionally designing from scratch) creative assets for various social platforms, as well as landing pages and emails, to deliver response-focused communications for our clients.
- Have availability during regular working hours 9-5 EST
- Check relevant email on a regular basis to reply to assignments, feedback, and deadlines
- Build out animated and static ads in AfterEffects / Figma (Organize assets with established naming conventions; Implement requested edits; Occasionally, create new design iterations to existing ad assets; Adhere to the client’s visual brand)
- Build out email campaigns in HTML or client CRM (Implement requested edits; Occasionally, create new design iterations to existing email templates)
- Build out landing pages in WordPress (using Elementor or web builder) or Element451 (a higher-ed CRM)
- Portfolio of design and production work
- Functional knowledge of relevant software & platforms such as:
Adobe Suite, Figma, WordPress - Motion graphics and After Effects
- HTML/CSS
- CRMs: Element451, Slate, etc (ability to learn new systems efficiently)
- Adept at optimizing files various platforms and use cases
- Familiarity with operational business systems: Google Suite and Microsoft products
- Experience with project management systems: (such as ProWorkFlow or Asana)
- Organized: Must be organized and detail oriented
- Efficient: Ability to work efficiency, practicing good time management skills to prioritize work and deliver within scope and allotted timeframe
- Proactive: Proven self-motivation to take initiative and master new tasks quickly
- Design sense: strong typographic skills; attention to visual identity standards of individual brands; and an ability to follow creative direction
- Communication: Strong sense of accountability for deadlines and projects. Proactive communicator about changes in availability or challenges that come up.
- Demonstrate a foundational comprehension of marketing objectives for deliverables
- Incorporate design best practices in design for each medium.
- Work collaboratively to meet the assignments' objectives and deadlines.
- Able to deliver quality, response-focused work, applying industry and platform-specific best-practices
This is a freelance position. The hourly rate for this position is $40-60/hour. This position is not eligible for benefits. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
