About This Role
The Franchise Program Director, Immunology is a hands-on leader with accountability for driving cross-functional franchise-level strategic initiatives and managing franchise operations against robust metrics. This role partners closely with the Head of the Immunology Franchise and the cross-functional franchise leadership team (Head of Immunology Research, Head of Immunology Development, Head of Immunology Global Medical, Corporate Strategy) to define the disease area strategic plan and execute above-brand strategic initiatives in service of the franchise portfolio. This role requires a talented individual that effectively navigates cross-functional collaborations, can manage a complex set of stakeholders, communicates crisply, and enables efficient operations.
What You’ll Do
Lead above-brand cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives including but not limited to immunology or lupus disease area strategic plans, pre-launch organizational readiness including regional/local engagement, immunology/lupus communication strategy, immunology lupus health equity strategy, definition/prioritization of AI initiatives, etc.
Engage cross-functional partners as necessary to drive collaboration and issue resolution on key deliverables or in preparation for critical decision-making at corporate governance
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Immunology Franchise, engaging with the cross-functional franchise leadership team on above-brand initiatives and with the Product Development and Commercialization Team Leads and Program Directors where required
Serve as the process owner for key franchise operational elements including franchise goal setting and tracking, pre-launch dashboards and quarterly Biogen Extended Leadership Team updates, and Franchise Annual Operating Plan (budgeting) process and ongoing budget tracking in partnership with finance
Assist the Head of the Immunology Franchise with materials creation for key internal and external engagements including corporate governance, internal presentations, board and investor relations material preparation
Partner with the Head of the Immunology Franchise to foster a strong culture and high performing team within the Franchise, including after action reviews, team health assessments, team building and development opportunities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
12+ years of drug development and/or commercialization experience in strategy & operations, portfolio management or consultancy
Experience with global product launches and leading cross-functional teams/deliverables
Exceptional business acumen demonstrated via a track record of leading successful cross-functional initiatives and delivering compelling executive presentations/communications
Outstanding relationship building and communication skills, including the ability to navigate across the organization
Travel up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with process improvement (i.e. Lean Six Sigma experience) with tangible and measurable business impact preferred
Experience in immunology preferred

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
