About Freeflow

Freeflow is building AI Agents for P&C Insurance Carriers.

We’re starting by solving a customer problem that has strong pull from our industry contacts: Claims auditing.

Today, carriers audit a small percentage of claims. They do these audits manually, inconsistently, and often too late to drive meaningful outcomes on key business metrics like Loss Ratio, Customer Satisfaction, or Claims Capacity.

We believe the future is:

→ Continuous, AI-driven audits across 100% of claims → Real-time detection of leakage, errors, and missed opportunities → Direct, measurable improvement to the loss ratio

But claims audits are just the starting point.

Our broader vision is to build an AI-native operating layer for insurance carriers, that includes:

  • Submission intake: structuring and routing risk data at the quote stage

  • Premium audits: ensuring accuracy between exposure and written premium at the bind stage

  • Claims audits: real-time detection of leakage, errors, and missed opportunities at the claim stage

Having even two out of the three nodes allows Freeflow to create an intelligent data layer powered by AI agents that continuously improves decision-making across the carrier’s operations.

This is how we move the loss ratio at scale.

As a Founding Product Manager at freeflow you will
  • You will work directly with founders, customers, and engineers to define what we build, why we build it, and how it creates real economic value (eg improving loss ratios, replacing offshore teams, improving capacity, etc)

  • This is a 0→1 role where you will define how AI agents:

    • Understand the world of insurance through modeling industry ontologies

    • Understand and integrate with our various carrier customers’ systems and SOPs

    • Review specific data structures (claims files, policies, submissions)

    • Generate actionable intelligence based on core data to create both efficiency gains and learning opportunities for our carrier customers

  • Work directly with carriers

    • Engage claims leaders, audit teams, and executives

    • Translate real-world pain into shipped product quickly

About You
  • Technical

    • Leverage yourself and the product org with AI

    • Interviewing users, SMEs and documenting + transmitting learnings across org

    • Modeling requirements

    • Prioritizing efforts in alignment with business strategy

    • Managing backlogs, feature prioritization

    • Close collaboration with product design

    • Given the carrier customers (SOC2, RBAC, SSO, data partitioning), understand enterprise security and compliance requirements.

    • Collaborate on product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and go-to-market decisions.

    • Partner directly with engineers to break down product requirements into actionable specs. You'll own the "what" and "why," collaborate on the "how," and be close enough to implementation details to unblock decisions quickly.

  • Cultural

    • Passionate about solving customer needs and love moving fast. You are excited about the opportunity to be the primary AI/agent specialist on a small, high-ownership engineering team

    • You can demonstrate experience with solving open-ended problems in startups at the earliest stage (0 to 1) and you are

      • able to independently identify critical problems to deliver on key customer needs, propose and implement solutions to those problems

      • able to structure and execute your own work with little to no supervision

Bonus
  • Deep experience in P&C insurance claims or claims auditing

  • Comfort working large unstructured data files (documents, notes, images, video, audio, tasks)

Note, we don’t expect you to know everything listed above. What matters most to us is that you are experienced, enjoy solving hard problems independently, are passionate about building new AI technology, are an outstanding team player, and you are interested in learning and growing on the job professionally and personally.

If you’re excited about building AI systems that start with claims audits, but expand into a broader platform that transforms how insurance carriers operate:

We should talk.

    • AI tooling + add-ons of your choice to maximize your productivity

So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
