Embed with B2B customers as the founding growth lead to own paid channels end-to-end: strategy, campaign execution, landing pages, attribution, reporting, and customer communication. Use Thunder to run live work, identify recurring workflows, and turn gaps into automated agents and scalable growth playbooks.

Introducing Thunder

Thunder is building AI agents for B2B growth, starting with paid ads. Our platform gives growth marketers the same 100x leverage that engineers are getting from tools like Claude Code and Codex.

Rather than sell another piece of software into an already fragmented stack, Thunder sells the entire outcome. Customers give us responsibility for their paid channels, and we use our software to own strategy, execution, and results. This creates a tight feedback loop for improving our agents: whenever we encounter a recurring workflow, we look for a way to automate it and operationalize it across customers.

Team + Traction

Thunder raised a pre-seed in late 2025 and is backed by early leaders at OpenAI and HubSpot. We're live with paying customers, from high-growth Series A-C companies to larger enterprises, and are using our product to run their paid channels end-to-end.

We’re second-time founders. Between us we've previously sold an AI startup, built the core ad infrastructure at LinkedIn, led product and growth for BuzzFeed Quizzes, and deployed AI agents at F500 companies.

About this role

We're hiring employee #1: Founding Growth Lead. You'll own paid growth for the B2B companies we serve and help build the AI-native system that makes exceptional growth work scalable.

Think of it as forward-deployed growth: you'll be embedded in customer accounts and own their paid growth end to end, from strategy and customer communication through campaigns, landing pages, attribution, and reporting.

This is a hands-on role that moves fluidly between high-level strategy and detailed execution. You'll also be a critical user of Thunder itself: using the product on live customer work, finding where the agents fall short, and helping turn those gaps and repeated patterns into better workflows, agents, and tools.

Instead of spending years inside a single company's growth funnel, you'll see many different growth motions across our customers. You'll develop unusually broad judgment while working closely with all three founders and helping define Thunder's customer operating model, product roadmap, and growth playbooks.

What we’re looking for

Above all, we're looking for someone with a builder mindset: someone excited by real ownership and autonomy rather than a narrow role. You might be an ex-founder or someone who wants to start a company in the future. You're high-agency, fast-moving, and AI-native.

You may have worked in growth, performance marketing, demand generation, product marketing, GTM, RevOps, business operations, product, consulting, a Chief of Staff role, or as a founder. The exact title matters less than evidence that you:

  • Take real ownership of outcomes. You don't stop at recommendations or wait for someone else to unblock progress.
  • Communicate exceptionally well and can earn the trust of customers, founders, and marketing leaders.
  • Have strong instincts around positioning, messaging, funnels, and customer experience.
  • Move comfortably between quantitative analysis and qualitative judgment.
  • Are willing to get into the operational weeds across ads, attribution, landing pages, CRM, reporting, and whatever else the work requires.
  • Naturally notice repeated or inefficient work and look for ways to turn it into a better process, workflow, or tool.
  • Already use AI tools like Claude Code, Codex, or similar systems to produce real work across professional or personal projects.

Nice to have:

  • GTM experience at a B2B software company.
  • Experience running ads on Google or LinkedIn.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.
