Tonic.ai is looking to bring on a Forward Deployed Engineer to help our largest and most sophisticated customers solve their most pressing data problems. From implementing Tonic.ai’s core applications to developing custom solutions, FDEs work to ensure a full end-to-end solution is achieved. This work includes integrating into a customer automation pipeline, establishing robust processes and user enablement. Additionally, the FDE will be responsible for custom application development and working with the core product teams to add necessary functionality. This role has huge growth potential for an ambitious individual looking to help shape a relatively new team at a fast-growing startup.
We’re looking for someone with a strong engineering background who is also well versed in customer-facing interactions and thrives upon the combination of the two. The ideal FDE will be equally comfortable delivering on the specific requirements from a statement of work as well as helping a customer define, scope, and ultimately build out a solution to an ambiguous problem statement.
What You’ll Do:

Own execution and on-time delivery of end-to-end projects for high-value customers, in partnership with the broader Tonic.ai account team.

Deploy onto Customer team(s) to implement and operationalize Tonic.ai applications as part of an end-to-end solution.

Collaborate closely with the Sales and Solutions Architect teams to validate the scope of Professional Services engagements and assist in writing statements of work.

Assist in defining parameters for Professional Services work at Tonic.ai and contribute to process and documentation improvement initiatives.

Liaise with Product and Engineering teams to support existing projects and/or provide feedback on the core Tonic.ai platform.

Travel up to 25% of time to customer sites.
What You’ll Bring:

Strong engineering background in Computer Science or related field
-
At least 3-5 years of experience in a technical customer-facing role as a Sales Engineer, Technical Customer Success, Software Implementation Consultant or Forward Deployed Engineer.

Technical experience in database, data warehouse, data lake, cloud, data catalog, data engineering/pipelines, and BI.

Experience integrating applications with third party APIs

Solution-oriented mindset capable of integrating Tonic.ai products into a variety of different architectures to produce a myriad of different workflows.

Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
