Forward Deployed Engineer
Services | Atlanta
monday.com is the AI work platform powering the most ambitious teams. 250,000+ customers across departments use us to bring people, workflows, and AI agents together on one flexible platform where AI doesn't just assist, it executes. We move fast, build things that matter, and foster an ownership-driven culture where you're empowered to shape how organizations work and outpace their competition.
About the Role
Our team is growing and we are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Professional Services team! In this role, you will deliver the technical solutions that embed the monday.com AI Work Platform within a customer's enterprise tech stack through integration, custom application development, and agentic AI engineering. You will work directly with our customers to transform solution designs into production systems on which their businesses depend. You will also contribute to the internal tooling that powers the speed, quality, and consistency of projects within our global delivery organization.
Please note that this is a hybrid position with three days/week in our Atlanta office.
Responsibilities
Develop deep, hands-on knowledge of the monday.com platform, monday AI, products, and extensibility tools needed to fully integrate monday.com into clients' digital landscapes.
Lead post-sale technical delivery through discovery, technical requirements gathering, and the execution of technical services engagements, collaborating closely with account and deployment strategy teams.
Lead technical consulting engagements for customers, applying industry knowledge in the areas of AI transformation, system scale, security, user governance, and data architecture.
Engineer complex and agentic AI solutions that leverage our developer tools, including the monday.com API, MCP, and apps framework, to deliver data migrations, integrations, and custom applications.
Navigate both complex engagements, where you execute defined technical scope within a delivery team, and standalone engagements, carrying customer communication, sequencing, and delivery yourself.
Produce the documentation, walkthroughs, and exit artifacts for your builds that allow customers to operate, maintain, and extend them independently.
Advocate for customers with Product and R&D teams when their needs are not met and play an active role in extending monday.com product capabilities to help customers exceed their business goals.
Contribute to the global Services tooling roadmap and shared asset library, building the internal utilities, reusable components, and reference implementations that make the next engagement faster than the last.
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a forward deployed engineer, software engineer, or technical consultant in enterprise software, delivering hands-on technical work for external customers in complex enterprise environments.
Fluency in Generative and Agentic AI development, spanning LLM-based workflows, agent orchestration and tool use, and context and retrieval design, with AI-assisted editors such as Cursor or Claude Code in daily use.
Familiarity with the practices that keep AI reliable once it is live, covering evaluation harnesses, guardrails, human-in-the-loop review, tracing, and the failure modes that only surface in production.
Strong working knowledge of APIs (RESTful, GraphQL), webhooks, MCP, identity management (SCIM), and authentication protocols (SAML 2.0/OAuth 2.0).
Software development experience in TypeScript and JavaScript, with depth in either React or Node.js, and full-stack experience being preferred.
Hands-on experience in enterprise data mobility and integrations, writing and adapting the SQL, scripts, and n8n or Workato automations that migrate and transform customer data into target systems.
Exposure to production engineering concepts spanning version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment to AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.
Consultative range and communication skills required to understand a business problem, frame a solution for client stakeholders, and clearly articulate technical topics to a non-technical audience.
Adaptability to move between customers, technology stacks, and unfamiliar problem domains, with the resilience to absorb a change of direction mid-engagement and genuine appetite for fast-moving work.
Detail-oriented with some project management experience, comfortable running standalone engagements independently and working across several projects at once.
Positive attitude, empathy, and high energy with the ability to take initiative and learn new technology to move where the work is.
BA or BS degree preferred.
