About Tribe AI

At Tribe, we're on a mission to help enterprises realize the value of AI for their business. Every large enterprise wants to use AI to transform how they operate — but many don't have the capabilities to do it. That gap is our opportunity. We're an AI-native services company that helps enterprises build and deploy best-in-class AI products that deliver real business impact. We partner closely with OpenAI and Anthropic, giving us rare visibility into the most advanced models, roadmaps, and GTM strategies in the world.

About the Role

We're looking for a Forward-Deployed AI Product Engineer who owns the full loop from user discovery to shipped product. You'll embed directly with clients, spend time with their end users, and translate what you learn into AI-powered products that make people's work meaningfully better — without waiting for a PM to tell you what to build next.

This role requires someone who can parachute into client environments, quickly develop a mental model of how users actually work, and make fast, autonomous product decisions. You're as comfortable sketching a workflow on paper with the customer as you are shipping a full-stack feature by end of week. You thrive under resource constraints, find the simple solution over the elegant-but-complex one, and care deeply about whether what you shipped actually solved the problem.

You'll collaborate closely with AI architects, infrastructure engineers, designers, and PMs within your pod — shaping end-to-end experiences from early discovery and prototypes to stable, client-facing applications. This role is equal parts product instinct and engineering craft: you'll get inside users' heads while ensuring the stack is maintainable, performant, and ready for real users.

Key Responsibilities

Product Engineering & Delivery

  • Build full-stack features using modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Python) that solve real user problems with minimal complexity.

  • Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into client-facing products with attention to latency, reliability, and user experience.

  • Stand up backend services, APIs, and integrations quickly — prototype fast, then harden what works.

  • Make pragmatic technical choices under time constraints; eliminate work when a simpler path exists.

  • Help evolve prototypes into production-ready experiences with appropriate tests, logging, and performance tuning.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Sit shoulder-to-shoulder with end users to map workflows, surface pain points, and build a deep mental model of how they work.

  • Make autonomous product decisions in your daily flow — define what to build, why, and how it should behave without relying on constant PM hand-offs.

  • Close the feedback loop after every ship: go back to users, validate impact, and iterate.

  • Communicate tradeoffs and product decisions clearly to both technical teammates and non-technical client stakeholders.

  • Contribute to internal templates, component libraries, and coding standards that improve speed and consistency.

About You
  • 5+ years building digital products, with clear evidence of owning the full product loop — not just shipping code, but validating that it worked.

  • Strong full-stack ability: React, Next.js, TypeScript on the frontend; Python or Node.js on the backend.

  • Comfortable integrating AI/LLM APIs and building products where AI is a core part of the experience.

  • Experience in startup or resource-constrained environments where you had to move fast, wear multiple hats, and solve problems creatively.

  • Exceptional communicator — you make users feel heard, explain complex things simply, and share space in a room rather than dominating it.

  • Strong understanding of accessibility, performance, and responsive behavior across devices.

  • Bonus: experience in B2B or enterprise environments, or a background that spans both consumer and business-facing products.

Why Join Us:
  • Impact: Ship AI systems that don’t just demo well but run at scale in Fortune 500 enterprises.

  • Growth: Stay hands-on with cutting-edge frameworks while developing field-tested instincts.

  • Variety: Solve problems across industries, from finance to healthcare to defense.

  • Culture: Work in a team that prizes resilience, creativity, and winning over process.

  • Trajectory: Build both your technical and consulting muscles in one of the most demanding roles in AI delivery.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
