The Fluids System Engineer plays a critical role in executing business priorities, engaging globally and with industrial and academic partners to develop advances/emerging technologies and to support significant upgrades of fielded product lines.
The Fluids System Engineer role is responsible for developing, integrating, validating and certifying the fluids system and components for aviation engine applications. These fluids systems and components include the main fuel pump and metering, variable geometry actuation, air valves, heat exchangers, and thermal and dynamic modeling.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

The Fluids System Engineer will be part of Engineering team. In this position she/he will:

  • Manage and define subsystem requirements based on Engine and aircraft ones and communicate formally to design and experimental team

  • Design Fluid Systems and lead/support request from/to other controls disciplines (control, software and electric)

  • Define certification path in collaboration with system and certification team.

  • Lead communication with sourcing and suppliers (both design and manufacturing) to ensure execution of the program plan

  • Lead design team in reviews preparation and presentation. Interface and collaborate with non advocate Control Title Holders (CTH's) to make sure reviews are successfully passed

  • Lead design team in prototype procurement, validation/certification testing execution and reporting to authorities.

  • Validates Fluidic System throughout analysis or experimental tests.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Aeronautical preferred

  • Proficiency in written and oral English

  • Previous proven working experience, preferably in engineering section

  • Basis of Fluid System Softwares (modeling, post processing/ results)

  • Basis of Mathworks Softwares (MATLAB/Simulink) and their tools

  • Basis of operative systems (MS Windows, Linux/UNIX)

  • Experience with development of Fuel Systems

  • Significant Process Substantiation (SPS) experience

  • Supplier and Shop Experience

  • Clear thinker and effective problem solver

  • Independence / work without direct supervision

  • Team Leadership and Program Management / Execution

  • Work VISA, according to local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of aviation component certification process

  • Knowledge of Thermal Management System

  • PhD in fluidic disciplines will be considered as a plus

  • Basis of CAD modeling

  • Basis of dynamic/transient network behavior

  • Active Team working capabilities
