About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lending Operations Manager in Commercial Banking as part of the Commercial Banking Flood Operations Specialty team.
The Commercial Banking Flood Operations team is a key control in ensuring Wells Fargo is fully assessing Flood risk and is compliant with the FDPA Policy. Failure to mitigate risk in this portfolio would have significant impacts to the Bank by creating defects that could result in regulatory and policy violations and adverse impact to internal and external customers.
The Lending Operations Manager will be responsible to lead a team that executes on the processing and/or quality assurance reviews on Commercial loans for FDPA and Flood Insurance requirements. This will include oversight of pipeline management, meeting Service Level Agreements, and interaction with front line partners and flood vendors. The Manager will also review processes, solve for root cause issues with urgency and identify opportunities for simplification, as well as, support the development and execution of a risk control framework.
In this role, you will:
  • Manage the activities of a Loan Production, Loan Servicing, and Commercial or Real Estate Construction Loan team responsible for loan processing, documentation, pre-closing or closing tasks, loan monitoring, loan servicing, or underwriting activities
  • Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Lending Operations functional area
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development within Lending Operations functional area
  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of new and revised systems, policies, and guidelines
  • Oversee implementation of practices to ensure compliance with Wells Fargo legal, investor, regulatory, or business policies
  • Make credit decisions and resolve issues regarding performance of a business unit or functional area to ensure business objectives are met
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functional areas with low to moderate complexity, and with accountability for special portfolio segments requiring focused management
  • Collaborate and consult with Lending Operations peers, colleagues, and multiple level managers accountable for providing quality customer service to internal or external customers
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Lending Operations
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Transactions and Processing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience with real estate or commercial loans
  • 2+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience
  • 1+ years of Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA) compliance and process experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in the financial services industry within a regulated environment
  • Demonstrated experience with loan pipeline management oversight
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
  • Ability to review and interpret complex commercial loan and insurance policy documents for completeness, accuracy, and acceptability of risk
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule - 3 days in office / 2 days remote
  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$85,000.00 - $133,000.00
