Flagship Labs 68 (FL68) is a privately held, well-funded, early-stage biotechnology company that is developing a novel cell therapy platform, which leverages unique cell types and behaviors to perform entirely new therapeutic functions. THE ROLE
FL68 is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Senior Research Associate with experience in culturing of mammalian cells in bioreactor systems. This candidate will play a pivotal role in the company’s efforts to optimize platform capabilities and transition findings into early pre-clinical studies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and possess excellent communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement protocols for the efficient use of bioreactors in stem cell culture and differentiations to enhance performance and scalability.
- Support efforts in small-scale bioreactor process optimization and support the transition of processes to larger scale systems.
- Perform cell-based and molecular assays (e.g. ELISAs, qRT-PCR, metabolic analytics) to evaluate process outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including research and development and in-vivo teams, providing insights and updates on project progress and outcomes.
- Conduct data and statistical analysis for process optimization and reporting.
- Maintain a detailed and up-to-date electronic lab notebook and write high quality experimental protocols.
- Present experimental plans and results to the scientific team and management.
- Availability to work some weekends.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- MS in engineering, life sciences, biotechnology, biology, or related field with 0-2 years of relevant bioprocessing experience in industry.
- BA in engineering, life sciences, biotechnology, biology, or related field with 2-4 years of relevant bioprocessing experience in industry.
- Demonstrated experience in bioreactor systems. Experience with continuous perfusion processes for mammalian cell culture is a plus.
- Experience with coding for automated systems is a plus.
- Experience with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) is a plus but not required.
- Must possess a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to evolving job requirements and priorities.

The salary range for this role is $81,000 - $107,250. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. FL68 currently offers healthcare coverage, annual incentive program, retirement benefits and a broad range of other benefits. Compensation and benefits information is based on FL68’s good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
