We are looking for a FinOps Optimization Lead, Vice President, reporting directly to the FinOps Lead (Vice President).

State Street’s Technology Business Office in the GTS Management division is seeking an experienced, hands-on, dynamic, and analytical Cloud FinOps professional to join our organization.

The Cloud Optimization Lead will lead the strategy, execution, and governance of cloud cost optimization initiatives across the enterprise. This role is accountable for maximizing the value of cloud investments by driving efficiency, reducing waste, and embedding cost-aware practices into engineering and operational workflows.

Partnering closely with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Finance, and Business Leaders, the Cloud Optimization Lead identifies optimization opportunities, implements scalable solutions, and ensures measurable financial outcomes aligned to organizational goals.

The team you will be joining is part of the Technology Business Office in the GTS Management division, a function that is critical as State Street continues to migrate applications to the cloud.

What you will be responsible for

  • Lead and manage State Street corporate-wide cloud optimization efforts, driving continuous cost optimization through spend pattern analysis, waste reduction, consumption management protocols, and utilization reporting
  • Identify, prioritize, and drive execution of cost-saving initiatives across all cloud platforms
  • Develop an enterprise-wide AI optimization program
  • Establish optimization roadmaps aligned with organizational cost targets and business priorities, including AI
  • Track, measure, and report realized savings and cost avoidance
  • Provide financial management support, including forecasting, budgeting, and chargeback/showback strategy, while enhancing spend transparency and visibility of cloud costs
  • Execute the program roadmap and enhance it to incorporate AI-driven tokenization strategies
  • Establish a set of high-priority KPIs to measure and mature spend management capabilities
  • Collaborate with global teams on key business initiatives

  • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms; Databricks and Snowflake optimization experience preferred

  • Ability to multi-task and successfully manage simultaneous priorities
  • Experience working with Power BI and/or cloud financial analytics/reporting tools

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (computer science, computer engineering, finance, accounting)
  • 10+ years of combined experience in Cloud FinOps, Computer Science, and Finance roles within a Fortune 500/Fortune Global 500 company
  • Certified Cloud Practitioner (or equivalent) required
  • Knowledge of cloud service costs, including experience building allocation methodologies for appropriate distribution of shared services
  • Ability to foster strong relationships across client organizations, including senior managers and key decision-makers in a large firm with the ability to build strong working relationships with end users
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $202,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
