UFG is hiring for a Financial Systems Analyst II to be responsible for administering, configuring, and optimizing Finance-owned systems that support accounting, financial reporting, planning, and regulatory processes. This role operates with a high degree of independence and serves as a key resource in system configuration, issue resolution, and process enablement.
This position partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Actuarial, Reinsurance, and IT teams to ensure Finance systems are stable, compliant, and aligned with evolving business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Systems Administration
- Serve as a primary support resource for Finance applications (General Ledger, Workiva, FP&A tools, treasury, reinsurance systems, etc.)
- Configure system rules, workflows, and role-based security to support business processes
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
- Maintain system configuration documentation and inventories
Change Management & System Enhancements
- Lead Finance participation in system upgrades, patches, and enhancements
- Coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Finance-impacting changes
- Evaluate and prioritize system enhancement requests
- Partner with IT to assess integration impacts across upstream and downstream systems
Finance Process Enablement
- Align system functionality with accounting close, FP&A cycles, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve system usage and reduce manual processes
- Support implementation and stabilization of new Finance systems and integrations
- Recommend process improvements leveraging system capabilities
Governance & Controls
- Ensure Finance systems support SOX, GAAP, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain system-related control documentation and support audits
- Ensure appropriate access controls and segregation of duties are enforced
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning for Finance systems
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts
- Act as a liaison between Finance and IT for system-related issues
- Communicate system changes, risks, and impacts to stakeholders
- Contribute to standardization of system processes and best practices
Job Specifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in financial systems, ERP administration, or accounting operations
- Insurance or financial services experience preferred
- Strong understanding of financial close and reporting processes
- Experience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., FIS IAS, SAP, Oracle, Workiva, Workday, etc.)
- Familiarity with system configuration, integrations, and change management practices
- Understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Process-oriented mindset with focus on system reliability and efficiency

- Travel Requirements: Infrequent travel, only as needed
Pay Transparency Statement:
UFG Insurance is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $72,281 - $99,702, which represents the typical range for new hires in this role. Individual pay within this range will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, internal equity, geography and market data.
