As a Controller at Swan Bitcoin, you will play a pivotal role in managing various aspects of financial operations and the financial close and reporting of our organization. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of at least 5-10 years of hands-on experience in accounting and/or audit in a public company setting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.
Your responsibilities- Manage day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accurate bookkeeping in compliance with US GAAP accounting standards
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and accruals, with the objective of ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial records
- Prepare financial statements and other accounting memos and disclosures to ensure compliance with key standards such as ASC 606, ASC 718, and ASC 842
- Analyze financial reports to provide timely and insightful recommendations to Swan leadership
- Partner closely with third parties to manage annual audits, filings, taxes, and other corporate accounting activities
- Assist in the development and documentation of robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial reporting completeness and accuracy
- Evaluate, design, and implement financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA designation strongly preferred
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Auditor with at least 5-10 years of professional accounting/audit experience in a public company setting. Big 4 or large national public accounting experience is required
- Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in financial management software. Experience with NetSuite preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
- Must be eligible to work in the US
- Compensation for this role will be based on location and experience, and may include base salary, equity, and benefits
Remote pay range (based on location and experience)
$150,000—$200,000 USD
