Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst who will be responsible for data preparation, financial reporting, and data reconciliation. This role is critical in ensuring that our financial data is accurate, consistent, and readily available to support decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with large data sets, and a passion for delivering high-quality financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Preparation and Management:

  • Data Collection: Gather, organize, and prepare financial data from multiple sources, including ERP systems, financial databases, and other internal systems, ensuring data completeness and accuracy.
  • Data Cleansing: Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis and reporting.
  • Data Maintenance: Maintain financial databases and ensure that all data is up-to-date, properly formatted, and stored securely for future use.

Financial Reporting:

  • Report Preparation: Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, management reports, variance analyses, and financial summaries.
  • Dashboard Development: Assist in creating and maintaining financial dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau, providing stakeholders with clear insights into key financial metrics.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Support ad hoc reporting requests, delivering timely and accurate financial data to assist the finance team, management, and other stakeholders in decision-making.

Data Reconciliation and Integrity:

  • Reconciliation: Perform regular data reconciliations between financial systems, bank statements, and other data sources to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting.
  • Variance Analysis: Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial data, ensuring that all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve data reconciliation processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency, implementing best practices to enhance data integrity.

Support Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

  • Assist in Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the FP&A team with data preparation for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, ensuring that all data inputs are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments to gather and validate financial data, ensuring that all data used in financial analysis and reporting is accurate and consistent.
Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a financial analyst, data analyst, or similar role with a focus on data preparation, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Experience working with financial systems (e.g., ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) financial planning (Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and data analysis tools.
  • Data Management: Familiarity with financial databases and data management techniques, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Reporting Tools: Experience using financial reporting tools and software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Power BI, or Tableau) for data visualization and reporting.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities within financial data.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to work with large data sets.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Organizational and Time Management Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a systematic approach to managing financial data and reports.

Salary: $75-85k, depending on experience
