The Financial Analyst will support FP&A functions through monthly reporting, financial modeling, and analysis of key metrics to guide management decisions.
Location: Ireland, USA or Canada (remote)
Overview: Backlight’s Strategic Finance team is seeking a detail oriented Financial Analyst who will support the FP&A function with monthly reporting activities. The successful candidate will own critical models and support ongoing analysis for the Strategic Finance team. The role will require detailed analysis of Backlight’s products to provide insight to the management team to guide analysis and decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial operating models and forecasts to support financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Own analysis of the company’s progress through the year, including monthly volume / mix / rate variances.
- Support the preparation of monthly reporting packages including in-depth analysis of bookings, MRR, EBITDA and cashflow.
- Support the annual planning and rolling forecasting activities in collaboration with the FP&A team and company leadership.
- Support revenue and customer retention models, drive continuous improvement of revenue forecasting.
- Provide financial modeling support and reporting on strategic projects.
- Proactively engage in identifying opportunities for improvement, including automating manual processes and reports.
Qualifications:
- 2 - 3 years in a FP&A Analyst or similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced excel skills, with experience working with complex financial models.
- Experience with Datarails, Netsuite and Looker is considered an asset.
- High degree of accuracy with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Experience in Saas business models and/or recurring revenue business models is considered an asset.
