Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst partners with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and business leaders across the organization to support financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and business analysis. This role is responsible for evaluating financial and operational performance, developing financial models, identifying trends, and providing data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making across retail, energy, fleet, car wash, and real estate operations.

The position serves as a key business partner to finance and operational teams, helping leaders understand performance, improve profitability, enhance operational efficiency, and achieve organizational goals. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with annual budget and period reforecasting activities across multiple business units.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, capital projects, new site development, and operational improvements
  • Support periodic forecasting and scenario analysis to assist management with decision-making
  • Create ad hoc financial and operational reports to support departmental decision-making and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Conduct market research and industry analysis to support growth initiatives and strategic planning
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of KPI dashboards and business intelligence reporting tools
  • Evaluate the financial performance of marketing programs, pricing initiatives, loyalty programs, and operational projects.
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights that improve performance and support strategic initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Expectations:

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly actual to budget performance including analysis of data. Identify trends, variances and area of concern. 
  • Provide valuable foresight and decision support through effective business intelligence.
  • Work with senior management on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as capital planning and tracking, return on investment of strategic initiatives, event tracking and execution. 
  • Assist with the development of key performance indicators, financial analytics and other ad-hoc reports.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects focused on profitability improvement and process optimization.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Mathematics/Information Technology or related subject matter experience.
  • 2-4 years of financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, business analytics or related experience preferred.
  • Experience in multi-location retail, energy, convenience store, car wash or related industries a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills. 
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data and put conclusions in a well communicated format.
  • Strong Excel skills focused on summarizing, extracting or comparing large volumes of data.
  • Knowledge of the working of standard accounting software packages (preferably Microsoft Business Central).
  • Experience with SQL and Targit, preferred but not required.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

Job Environment:

The Financial Analyst primarily works in a professional office environment with frequent use of computers, financial software, reporting systems, and business intelligence tools. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer workstation, and analyzing large volumes of financial and operational data.

The physical requirements of this role include the ability to frequently use hands, fingers, and wrists for typing, data entry, and operating standard office equipment. 

The employee must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and regularly read, review, and interpret financial reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and other detailed documents. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to review data on computer screens and printed materials. 

The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, or lift and carry office materials weighing up to 15 pounds. 

The role requires the ability to maintain concentration, analyze complex information, solve problems, and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The Financial Analyst frequently collaborates with finance, operations, and business leaders throughout the organization and must be able to effectively participate in meetings, presentations, and cross-functional discussions. The work environment is generally quiet to moderate in noise level. Compensation:

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications. For the purpose of this role, the salary opportunity is:

PAY - $85,000 to $95,000 annually.
