Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager will oversee Inventory and Cost of Goods sold. Working closely with members of the FP&A and other organizations within the business, this individual will work to ensure accurate financial data and reports are provided timely to meet business needs, while managing a team of 2. They will also be responsible for maintaining and developing strong accounting processes and controls to ensure key accounts are in accordance with IFRS. This individual will leverage strong problem-solving and analytical skills to provide recommendations and insight to help drive business decisions. Essential Functions:
- Key member of the global accounting team, managing inventory and cost of goods sold
- Responsible for review of key areas of the month-end close process, including reconciliations of inventory/COGS related accounts and major balance sheet reserves
- Work through various technical accounting issues, including preparing memorandums and analysis to conclude on the appropriate accounting for cost accounting related transactions. Document and implement policies and procedures to ensure transactions are accounted for accurately.
- Collaborate with internal business partners and manage external communication to resolve transactional issues
- Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, as well as interim audit testing
- Act as liaison between Finance and other departments
- Support, adhere to, and help maintain strong internal control policies and procedures
- Continually identify and drive opportunities for process improvements
- Provide accounting support to other business units for special projects/ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary
- Exposure to international entities
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, CPA preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience in Finance or Accounting, 2+ years management experience
- Cost accounting experience a plus
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required
- Consumer products or manufacturing experience preferred
- Detail-oriented with proven analytical and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High degree of business acumen and emotional intelligence
- Team player with ability to effectively and efficiently work cross-functionally
