Finance Manager – In House Manufacturing Finance

 Description

The In House Manufacturing (IHM) Finance Team is the core finance business partner for Dyson’s IHM Operations function comprising of global manufacturing activities of Dyson Digital Motors (DDM).  The IHM Finance team assists these functions in delivering key operation objectives. The team’s goal is to develop and maintain a flexible and collaborative working relationship with the stakeholders to achieve all common objectives of the IHM Operations Function.

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our In-House Manufacturing Finance Team to drive various aspects of manufacturing cost management.  In particular, the incumber will focus on capex investment and depreciation costs management.  The incumbent should possess strong leadership skills, a good understanding of manufacturing finance and take the lead in business partnering with key stakeholders to deliver financial and operational KPIs.

From time to time, the incumbent will also work on ad hoc analysis together with the Operations and RDD functions to identify new opportunities for Dyson. This will include but not limited to the costings of new variants of in house manufactured technology, exploration of new manufacturing locations etc.  The incumbent’s will use his/her financial knowledge and manufacturing experience to formulate clear analysis for senior management team in Dyson for key decision-making.

The role is highly visible in the Dyson OPS organisation and also a key position of the IHM finance function.  This roles allows the incumbent a great opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of Dyson’s in house manufacturing technology.

The role reports to the Head of Finance – IHM Finance based in Singapore.

Accountabilities

  • DDM capex management relating to evolution of existing motors and sustaining manufacturing investments
  • Depreciation management for new and existing investments by motor variants
  • Run the financial planning (budget, month forecasts) processes for IHM Capex Investments
  • Business partner with Operations and NPD teams on delivery of motor cost down initiatives
  • Provide analysis on overheads cost for motors in development
  • Collaborates with site GM and other senior management on ad hoc reviews and complex analysis
  • Review and implement plant internal controls to maintain the standard procedures across IHM functions
  • Involved / take ownership of ad hoc strategic projects involving in house manufacturing 

Skills

  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent post-graduate qualification with manufacturing finance and costing experience
  • At least 7 to 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in rigorous financial planning, analysis
  • Proficiency in SAP or other MES/ERP system is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to understand concepts and ideas quickly and model data in meaningful ways
  • Strong background in spend management, cost modelling and budgeting
  • Naturally Inquisitive - comfortable and willing to interrogate existing process and systems
  • Proactive in proposing ideas to challenge status quo  
  • Experience in working across functions and cultures and dealing with remote teams
  • Excellent personal and business presentation skills, in particular the presentation of financial information to non-finance managers and directors
  • Assertive and able to influence upwards and peers
  • Good spoken & written English 
  • Has strong sense of operational discipline and ability to meet deadlines
