Key Responsibilities
· Support the month-end close process, ensuring compliance with group reporting deadlines
· Assist in all aspects of key finance processes, including order to cash, purchase to pay & record to report, ensuring accurate financial reporting & strong controls
· Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and ensuring accuracy in reporting and variance analysis
· Assist with margin profitability reporting including customer & products
· Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations to facilitate external audit reviews
· Assist with VAT 3 Return preparation and filings
· Assist in the production and further development of reporting on business performance to Senior Management across key financial and operational metrics
· Creation of financial & management reports across customer, product & supplier profitability,
· Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process by providing detailed analysis and insights into profitability drivers
· Liaise with Group & Intercompany finance teams as necessary.
· Liaise with internal and external auditors.
· Support the review and assessment of controls and working with process improvement teams to implement or enhance internal controls - ensuring the business unit is aligned at all times to support the growth of the business.
· Participate in regular team and group meetings.
· Support with ad hoc finance tasks & projects
· Be flexible in this role to support the finance & commercial function of the Uniphar Group as instructed by your manager.
Key Skills & Experiences
· Commercially minded qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA) or part qualified/ studying towards a professional accounting qualification
· Experience working with multi-functional disciplines including non-financial managers.
· Strong ability to apply critical strategic thinking to resolve problems.
· Self-motivated individual with a willingness to learn and develop
· Good Commercial Acumen with a focus on optimisation of profits.
· Proven time management and prioritisation skills focusing on urgent and overlapping deadlines, strong organisational skills, attention to detail and proven accuracy with record keeping.
· A proven track record of delivering high quality customer support.
· Ability to work effectively under time and delivery pressures
· Ability to influence without authority cross-functionally within the business
· High level of proficiency in excel and PPT, along with knowledge and experience across multiple ERP systems (SAP an advantage)
· Show resilience, be flexible and adaptable.
· Professional level written and oral communication.
· Very strong communication skills to deal with internal & external stakeholders
· Excellent Analytical Skills (numerical and written) with strong planning and organising skills
