Job Description
This is a remote position with travel (75%+) to support projects. The candidate must reside in TX or OK. The preferred candidate will reside in the Houston, TX metropolitan area.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Field Engineer to provide technical support for our specialized communication systems and product applications. In this role, you will be responsible for the programming, configuration, optimization, testing, and documentation of complex communication systems, including legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our systems, contributing to successful post-sale implementation and ongoing support.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for specialized systems and product applications, including troubleshooting software-driven electronics.
Provision communication system infrastructure and optimize the performance of RF and Broadband architecture.
Program, configure, optimize, test, and document complex communications systems, including legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure.
Perform integration, troubleshooting, and system management tasks at the Master site.
Conduct project-related remote site tasks such as antenna systems analysis, R56 audits, link verification, RF Equipment optimization, combiner tuning, RX multicoupler optimization, and documentation.
Instruct other Field Engineers, Engineers, and maintenance personnel in the technical aspects of current communication systems.
Understand and apply system optimization, verification, and documentation requirements for communication systems.
Perform specific system configuration, programming, optimization, testing, and documentation tasks.
Assist with system upgrades as required.
Mentor less experienced Field Engineers.
Coach other Field Engineers, Engineers, and maintenance personnel in system configuration, optimization, testing, and documentation methods and procedures.
Maintain all tools, test equipment, company-owned computer equipment, company-owned cellular telephones, and company vehicles in proper working order.
Ensure calibration of assigned test equipment and keep the test equipment database up to date.
Work under the direction of other Field Engineers, SSC, CSE, Product Groups, and/or others to characterize system defects during system implementation and maintenance.
Act as a lead on small or medium-sized projects and additions to existing systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Intermediate knowledge of computer systems (hardware, operating systems, and applications) and networking.
Proficiency in using test equipment (T1 and Ethernet testers, antenna systems analyzers (FDR's), communications systems analyzers, spectrum analyzers, Cat 5 and cat 6 cable testers, wattmeters, etc.).
Ability to learn new technologies and expand knowledge in current and newly released infrastructures.
Proficiency in using computers and common computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet browsers.
Training in basic electronics.
Intermediate understanding of RF, telecommunications, and computer networking.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
Extensive travel (75%+) is required.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as needed.
Target Base Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 USD

Basic Requirements
Associate's degree and 2+ years of engineering or technical experience
OR 4+ years of engineering or technical experience
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
