POSITION OVERVIEW

The Festival Manager, Marketing is charged with providing project management to support marketing initiatives which promote the Sundance Film Festival.

Working closely under the Associate Director, Marketing and with the Manager, Marketing, the Festival Marketing Manager supports Sundance Institute’s commitment to reach and welcome new audiences to join us in celebrating independent storytelling at the 2027 Sundance Film Festival.

This temporary position works full time (40 hours per week) from Wednesday, September 2, 2026 to Tuesday, February 2, 2027 and must be based within a commutable distance to Boulder, CO. While there are day-to-day opportunities for work to be performed remotely leading up to the Festival, this position will need to work onsite at key points throughout the duration of employment. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required at key points to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned.

Top priorities include but are not limited to…

  • Overseeing the planning and execution for various creative deliverables that support Festival events, corporate sponsorship activation, and ticketing.

  • Providing project management for the Marketing team, including creating and maintaining timelines for marketing assets to support the 2027 Festival.

  • Managing projects, including routing edits, obtaining approvals from Marketing leadership as well as internal constituents (corporate team, etc.), negotiating schedule changes, and progressing projects to the next stage in the process.

  • Gathering and managing organization of assets for design and web team as directed.

  • Writing a comprehensive post-Festival wrap report.

  • Managing seasonal employees, including training highly effective employees, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure they understand responsibilities and are effective in their roles.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

  • 3 years in marketing strategy, project management and execution, or related experience.

  • Leadership skills with a background that includes leading others or managing people.

  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people.

  • Detail oriented, with the ability to audit work to avoid mistakes and perform tasks accurately.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.

  • Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
