In the advanced electronics domain of FAST Labs™, we further the mission by developing and delivering some of the most advanced microelectronics technology and products that enable our customers to differentiate their offerings across commercial and warfare/defense markets. These technologies and products are based on a multitude of microelectronics fabrication technologies in silicon, SiGe, GaN, GaAs, and experimental processes.
The Microelectronics (µE) Product Line's Products and Services area delivers critical microelectronic products and provides design and fabrication services that advance mission capabilities across commercial and warfare/defense applications. We are seeking an experienced leader to join our µE product line to lead our Microelectronics Products and Services business, which functions under a commercial operating model.
Reporting directly to the µE Product Line Director, the Director of Products and Services will lead a cross-functional organization to i) develop and deliver microelectronics products that provide unparalleled performance and capabilities for warfighters and commercial customers, supporting a variety of missions with RF/MMIC, mixed-signal, digital, and thermal sensor chips, chipsets, and modules; and ii) provide design, development, and fabrication services for custom microelectronics, leveraging both our advanced in-house III-V fab and the broader third-party semiconductor ecosystem.
The successful candidate will be responsible for business success via strategy development, organizational leadership, and portfolio execution. The Products and Services area is accountable to capture or identify, create, and deliver discriminating products & services, including effective customer relationships both external and internal to BAE Systems. The Director of Microelectronics Products and Services will lead this broad portfolio with P&L accountability.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensuring "how" we work is aligned with µE cultural values of Problem-Solving, Innovation, Collaboration, Ownership, and Growth
  • Lead the Microelectronics Products and Services teams through all phases of the lifecycle with profit & loss accountability, under a commercial operating model
  • Manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute projects, products, and collections of projects and products. Ensure achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives. Participate in the support of new business and in the development of financial plans for the company. Model and demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety and security.
  • Provide proactive cross-function leadership of a key strategic portfolio to achieve customer commitments and business growth expectations.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership across the portfolio, leading by example to deliver program performance excellence and quality microelectronics products in volume.
  • Key leadership role in developing the microelectronics ecosystem within the Electronic Systems Sector
  • Execute using Earned Value Management techniques and commercial analytical industry best practices
  • Communicate effectively and work cross functionally in a highly matrixed organization to achieve results.
  • Actively develop and execute a strategy for a Microelectronics Products and Services integrated business and technology growth plan.
  • Serve as a member of the µE Leadership Team, actively partnering with other team members to drive innovative and consistent strategy across the product line.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 12+ years' work experience with Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience of experience in program or capture management and/or with functional activities related to the program lifecycle, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years work experience in microelectronics custom IC product development and production delivery
  • Demonstrated experience in building customer and supplier relationships, leading customer interactions and discussions of a technical and/or strategic nature.
  • Successful experience leading and growing a cross-functional organization, including personnel leadership and management of a diverse team.
  • Ability to understand and interpret BAE Systems customer missions, needs, and objectives
  • Ability to lead complex teams that are distributed across geographic locations in a borderless fashion.
  • Financial management expertise and experience executing to revenue and profit targets
  • Ability to lead development of creative solutions to highly complex problems
  • Strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate across the Electronics Systems sector, including executives.
  • Ability to obtain DoW Top Secret with SCI and SAP Security clearances

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Active US Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated P&L leadership of a cross-functional organization leading to substantial business growth.
  • Proven breadth of business leadership of custom IC product development lifecycle; from conception through sustainment.
  • Passion to deliver Electronic Systems Defense and Commercial Missions: 'We Protect Those Who Protect Us' and 'We Innovate for Those Who Move the World'.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $169630 - $288370
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
