About Onebrief

Onebrief is collaboration and AI-powered workflow software designed specifically for military staffs. By transforming this work, Onebrief makes the staff as a whole superhuman - meaning faster, smarter, and more efficient.

We take ownership, seek excellence, and play to win with the seriousness and camaraderie of an Olympic team. Onebrief operates as an all-remote company, though many of our employees work alongside our customers at military commands around the world.

Founded in 2019 by a group of experienced planners, today, Onebrief’s team spans veterans from all forces and global organizations, and technologists from leading-edge software companies. We’ve raised $320m+ from top-tier investors, including Battery Ventures, General Catalyst, Sapphire Ventures, Insight Partners, and Human Capital, and today, Onebrief is valued at $2.15B. With this continued growth, Onebrief is able to make an impact where it matters most.

About the Role

We’re hiring an Executive Technology & Security Support Engineer to join Onebrief’s Technology & Security team. This is a high-impact role focused on keeping our executive team productive, protected, and confident in their technology—whether they’re at HQ, at home, or on the road. You’ll be the primary technology partner for executive leadership, working closely with IT, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance to support critical systems and reduce risk.

This role combines hands-on technical work with thoughtful security leadership and steady executive-facing support. You’ll own executive environments end to end, respond decisively in high-pressure moments, and proactively strengthen systems before issues arise. We’re looking for someone who operates with discretion, anticipates needs instinctively, and sees executive technology as a force multiplier for speed, trust, and focus.

About You

You’re a steady presence in high-stakes situations. You work comfortably with senior leaders, make good decisions with imperfect information, and know when to move fast versus when to slow things down. You take ownership naturally, spot risks early, and follow issues through to resolution—especially when the work is sensitive or highly visible.

You’re technically strong and low-ego, able to explain complex issues clearly to non-technical audiences. You collaborate easily across teams, build trust through consistency, and care deeply about security and privacy without letting it get in the way of getting work done. You bring sound judgment, integrity, and a service mindset, knowing that how you show up matters just as much as the outcome.

What You’ll Do

Own executive technology

Take full ownership of executive devices, accounts, networks, and workflows, ensuring they’re secure, reliable, and tailored to how leaders actually work.

Protect high-risk users and data

Implement and maintain enhanced security controls for executive systems, securing home offices, travel setups, and temporary workspaces without adding unnecessary friction.

Respond decisively under pressure

Lead rapid response to executive-impacting incidents, making clear tradeoffs, restoring service quickly, and coordinating closely with IT, Security, and Engineering teams.

Prevent problems before they surface

Proactively monitor executive environments, identify emerging risks, and address issues early—especially around travel, off-sites, and critical meetings.

Build trust through discretion and presence

Communicate calmly and clearly with executives, handle sensitive information with care, and serve as a dependable partner in moments that matter.

What We Look For
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, security, or a related role

  • Experience directly supporting senior executives or VIP users

  • Strong knowledge of macOS, Windows, and mobile platforms, including MDM and endpoint security tools

  • Hands-on experience securing identities, devices, networks, VPNs, and cloud-based collaboration tools

  • Comfort operating in high-pressure, ambiguous environments with sound judgment

  • Clear, confident communicator who can translate technical issues for non-technical leaders

  • Track record of owning problems end to end and coordinating effectively across teams

  • Willingness to travel to support executive off-sites, events, and international travel as needed

  • Bonus: background in cybersecurity or systems engineering, experience securing home offices or travel environments, and/or relevant certifications (Security+, CISSP, JAMF, Okta, Microsoft, or similar)

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
