This position is based in Pittsburgh PA. Responsibilities require time in the office or in a field on a regular basis. This is not a remote or work from home position.
As an Executive Protection Manager within PNC's Physical Security Specialist organization, you will report into the Director Executive Protection & Physical Security Operations.
You will manage a team of executive protection specialists, providing leadership, guidance, and training to ensure operational excellence. Additionally, you will oversee the security of PNC’s Executives by implementing and maintaining robust security measures.
Must be eligible for HR218/LEOSA and PA Act 235 certification.

Qualifications:
Experience & Background
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in executive protection, dignitary protection, or high-threat security operations preferred
• Prior service in a federal protective agency (e.g., U.S. Secret Service, Diplomatic Security Service, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing executive protection programs for C-suite executives, board members, and high-profile individuals.
• Proven history of international security operations and coordinating with security vendors in foreign countries.
Security & Tactical Expertise
• Advanced tactical training, including firearms proficiency, evasive driving, defensive tactics, and close-quarters protection.
• Deep understanding of threat assessment, risk analysis, and vulnerability identification in both domestic and international contexts.
• Experience operating in high-threat environments or under elevated security conditions.
• Strong knowledge of surveillance detection, counter-surveillance, and protective intelligence practices.
Advance Planning & Operational Logistics
• Extensive experience in advance planning, including site assessments, route planning, venue security coordination, and contingency response
• Ability to create and execute comprehensive protection plans for domestic and international travel, events, and public appearances.
• Skilled in managing motorcade logistics, arrival/departure procedures, and secure transportation protocols.
Leadership & Program Management
• Strong leadership and team management experience, including training, supervising, and developing EP agents or contracted personnel.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams (legal, risk, compliance, corporate communications) to align protection strategies with organizational goals.
• Experience managing budgets, vendor contracts, and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
• Ability to interface professionally with senior executives, family members, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
• Demonstrated cultural awareness and discretion when interacting with global security vendors and foreign law enforcement/security agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for briefing leadership and documenting protection plans and after-action reports.
Technical & Administrative Competence
• Familiarity with digital security systems and secure communications platforms.
• Experience with real-time incident monitoring and intelligence feeds.
• Proficiency in tools for itinerary management, route mapping, and risk scoring.
Certifications & Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Homeland Security, or related field preferred.
• Executive Protection certification from a recognized institution (e.g., ESI, ASIS, or similar) preferred
• Additional certifications such as EMT-B, CPR/AED, or TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) are a plus.
• Required to obtain PA Act 235 certification needed to carry a firearm incident to employment.

- Assess and react, based upon potential impacts of presented risks/threats, serves as Assistant Director of at-risk PNC employees, who may include: CEO, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and all others as directed by Executive Committee leadership.
- Implements training protocols and ensure members of the team are adequately trained. Leads executive protection and logistic support, as needed, when clients travel both domestically and abroad. Manage the security operations from a dispatch "mobile" command center to create a localized point for analyzing security challenges and disseminating information. Basic knowledge of IT troubleshooting.
- Administers site survey, both domestically and abroad, advise on site requirements, implementing security and access controls to ensure safety. Maintains an in depth knowledge of all security orders, written and oral, pertaining to assigned duties as well as working knowledge of applicable federal/state laws.
- Works with all stakeholders to create comprehensive security plans, for all trips, events and off-site meetings. Coordinate contingency plans and emergency medical response for security incidents while protecting PNC employees. Proactively partners with law enforcement on an as needed basis.
- Creates and facilitates physical security training. Takes an active role in media and speaking engagements as needed. Maintains the highest level of professional behavior and ensure confidentially of all interested parties.
- Manages executive protection team. Leverages subject matter expertise to communicate and executive objectives in an effective manner.
