  • Provide strategic guidance and thought partnership to programmatic and policy leaders as they navigate complexity, competing priorities, and organizational growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across WorkMoney entities, serving as a connector across programs, policy, advocacy, communications, and external partnerships.
  • Represent WorkMoney’s programmatic vision and strategic priorities with external stakeholders, including partners, funders, advisors, and peer organizations, as appropriate.
  • Support executive leadership in identifying emerging opportunities, risks, and challenges related to programmatic growth, policy engagement, and member impact.
  • Track and communicate program outcomes, member impact metrics, and the overall health of strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience partnering closely with executive leaders, senior stakeholders, and boards on high-priority initiatives spanning multiple organizational entities.
  • Proven success designing, scaling, and coordinating complex, multi-audience programs, ideally within consumer-facing, advocacy, membership, or financial services environments.
  • Experience engaging in federal, state, or local policy processes, with the ability to translate strategic goals into actionable programming and organizational priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams while driving accountability and achieving organizational goals.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to move fluidly between program design, policy advocacy, operational execution, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate cross-functional environments, and translate complex ideas into clear action.
  • Collaborative working style with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to operate effectively within a matrixed organization.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
