The Impact you will have in this role: 

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to oversee the maturation, implementation, and management of our enterprise data governance framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management principles, regulatory requirements, and best practices in data governance. They will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure data policies are effectively communicated and adhered to, enhancing data quality, security, and compliance across the enterprise.

 

Your Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Implement a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and enforce policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, availability, and security.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify data-related business needs and develop solutions that promote efficient and effective data management.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, business units, IT and other key stakeholders to create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, data lineage, data quality rules.
  • Collaborate with second-line functions, including Data Risk Management.
  • Monitor and report on data governance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and compliance ofgovernance initiatives.
  • Facilitate data governance committee meetings, providing regular updates to senior leadership on the status of data governance initiatives and key risks or opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on data governance best practices, tools, and technologies to build a culture of data ownership and accountability.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, new regulations, and technological advancements that may impact data governance policies and processes.
  • Oversee the resolution of data governance issues and conflicts, ensuring timely and effective remediation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.


Talents needed for success: 

  • Strong data management and data governance experience, preferably but not necessarily in financial    services.
  • Understands and uses modern data governance tools that drive automation, scaling and efficiency.
  • Experience in internal audit, regulatory, compliance, privacy, records retention matters.
  • Demonstrates collaboration and flexibility to adjust to DTCC specific practices; Drives creative and solution-oriented activity with all participants and stakeholders.
  • Executes against the vision, and effectively translates into implementation roadmaps and technology requirements.
  • Comfortable communicating with all stakeholders (technology, clients, finance, integration, sales, ops) to engage in discussion, create user stories, and consistently deliver the right products and solutions.
  • Knowledge of financial services operations and technology, in particular Post Trade Processing, trends and user demands is beneficial but not required.

 


The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
