We serve as the enterprise software platform and system of record, connecting our clients' fuel, environment, store operations, and maintenance departments. Our customers save millions annually through reduced lost sales, improved customer experiences, fuel loss mitigation, and reduced environmental reserves and fines.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Software Sales Director to lead our sales team and drive significant revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record of building and managing high-performing sales teams, developing effective sales strategies, and exceeding targets in the B2B software sector. This role requires a hands-on leader who can mentor a team, navigate complex sales cycles, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a senior point of contact for key enterprise accounts. Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders. Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align on goals and deliver a cohesive customer experience.
  • Revenue Forecasting: Prepare accurate and timely sales forecasts for senior management. Identify potential risks and opportunities within the sales pipeline and develop contingency plans.
  • Market Insights: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and technology advancements to inform sales strategy and product positioning.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • Leadership: A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in software sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Sales Acumen: Deep understanding of B2B sales cycles, particularly in enterprise software. Experience with solution selling, value-based selling, and managing complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Team Building: Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate a diverse sales team. Strong coaching and mentorship skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Excellent strategic planning and execution skills. Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to both internal and external audiences.
  • CRM Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, for pipeline management and reporting.
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
  • Familiarity with the specific software vertical (e.g., SaaS, Supply Chain Management).
  • Experience managing remote sales teams.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants.
