THE ROLE

The Enterprise Risk Lead Specialist serves as a risk liaison for designated business units to assist in proactively identifying and addressing issues and weaknesses that could lead to unacceptable outcomes. By collaborating with members of the Enterprise Risk team and business unit contacts, this role will perform annual and targeted risk assessments and track risk mitigation activities. Perform incident triage, analyze trends and prepare risk reporting for senior management, MFS Committees and Boards. The role may also involve participation in other Enterprise Risk initiatives and projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Facilitate the risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) program to identify risk exposure and gaps within business processes and controls.

  • Conduct targeted risk assessments (TRAs) on an as needed basis to provide an independent and focused observation and inquiry-based evaluation of risk and/or control environments associated with a specific business activity.

  • Partner with the business and Enterprise Risk team to document recommendations and action plans resulting from risk assessment programs and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce risk exposure.

  • Perform incident triage to assist the business in remediating impact, recording of incident details and proper escalation.

  • Analyze incident trends to prepare risk reporting for senior management, MFS Committees and Boards.

  • Participate in Regular forums, stakeholder meetings and/or conduct workshops to promote a risk aware culture.

  • Provide effective challenge to help identify risks that could result in reputational, strategic, operational, financial, regulatory and/or talent 

  • Prepare results of assessments and develop risk analysis reporting and presentations, as needed, to business unit and senior management.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Must have at least 5-6+ years of work experience in risk (enterprise, operational, vendor or IT risk), investment management, financial services, or industry-related compliance.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to complete projects and reports within communicated deadlines

  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to make independent decisions and develop creative solutions to problems as appropriate.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization in a consultative role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Some periodic travel, domestic and international, may be required.

PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Understanding of internal control concepts and experience in conducting risk assessments preferred.

  • Experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) and data analytics tools preferred.
