The simple task of buying software, services, or tools at work has become hopelessly complicated at even the most innovative companies in the world. Today, enterprises spend $120T+ per year globally (>30 times larger than annual consumer e-commerce spend) and rely on vendors more than ever before to run their businesses.

Our cofounders started Zip in 2020 to address this seemingly intractable problem with a purpose-built procurement platform that provides a simple, consumer-grade user experience. Within the last 4 years, Zip has created a new category and developed the leading solution in this $50B+ TAM space. Today, the world’s leading companies like OpenAI, Snowflake, Anthropic, Coinbase, and Prudential rely on Zip to manage billions of dollars in spend.

We have a world-class team coming from category-defining companies like Airbnb, Meta, Stripe, Salesforce, Apple, and Google. With a $2.2 billion valuation and $370 million in funding from Y Combinator, Tiger Global, BOND, DST Global, and CRV, we’re focused on developing cutting-edge technology, expanding into new global markets, and—above all–driving incredible value for our customers. Join us!

Your Role

As an Enterprise Architect, you will be one of the strategic technical leaders in our GTM organization. Your expertise in enterprise procurement and SaaS Procure to Pay will enable you to act as a trusted advisor to prospective customers, ensuring they understand how our platform can transform their procurement operations and how our technology will fit and orchestrate within their ERP, Financial System and Procure to Pay technology and software stack.

In addition, you will serve as a bridge between GTM, Product and Engineering teams, ensuring alignment between business objectives and product roadmap. In this critical role, you will capture and translate feature requirements to drive enterprise success. You will bring your deep knowledge of SAP and understanding of enterprise procurement challenges to help align sales, solution engineers, product management, product marketing and engineering efforts with market needs, ensuring our product evolves to meet the demands of large-scale customers.

You will play a pivotal role in helping Zip win deals that involve complex SAP and other ERP integrations. By leveraging your deep procurement domain expertise, you will enable Solution Engineers to deliver impactful integration demos while advising Sales Account Executives on how to align our solution with customer pain points.

You Will
  • Guide Solution Engineers, ensuring they deliver compelling and value-driven product demonstrations of ERP integrations to Zip

  • Act as a Procure-2-Pay (P2P) subject matter expert to support complex sales pursuits and drive deal strategy.

  • Engage directly with enterprise prospects, leading technical discovery sessions to identify pain points and align solutions.

  • Shape our technical sales messaging, crafting solution stories that resonate with IT decision-makers.

  • Develop and refine demo integration strategies, ensuring our demonstrations of ERP integrations align with customer-specific use cases and procurement workflows.

  • For strategic prospects, contribute to technical pre-sales deliverables, including RFP responses, security assessments, and proof-of-concept (PoC) projects.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Post-Sales teams to influence product direction and ensure smooth customer transitions.

  • Act as a key liaison between GTM and Product & Engineering teams, ensuring high priority ERP use cases (e.g., SAP) and their technical requirements are effectively documented for roadmap prioritization

Qualifications
  • 20+ years of experience in product management, solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or enterprise procurement consulting.

  • Deep expertise in procurement processes, including P2P, sourcing, supplier management, and AP automation

  • Deep understanding of SAP ecosystem (e.g., SAP Ariba, S/4HANA), including APIs, data models, and integration patterns

  • Hands-on experience with APIs, integrations, and procurement-related ERP platforms (SAOm Oracle, Workday, Coupa, Ariba, Jaggaer, iValua).

  • Expertise in integration architecture and middleware platforms (iPaaS, APIs, ETL).

  • Proven success in enterprise SaaS engagements, selling and/or implementing for Fortune 500 companies and working with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Experience leading Proof-of-Concept (PoC) engagements, ensuring alignment between our solution and customer needs.

  • Ability to translate enterprise customer challenges into product requirements, influencing roadmap priorities for Product and Engineering teams.

Nice to Have
  • Hands-on experience with ERP, P2P, S2P, CLM, GRC, or procurement automation tools.

  • Prior experience in consulting or implementation roles related to procurement transformation.

  • Experience working in a high-growth SaaS environment.

The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
