The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

Engineering and Technology Application Services (ETAS) is looking for an Application Administrator to join our seasoned team providing excellent collaborative and innovative support to mission critical, enterprise engineering applications. This role involves working with vendor-developed applications and internally developed applications. Key phases include pre-installation vendor collaboration, installation, data import, upgrades, user support, permissions updates, scheduling backups, task automation, and application retirement. Applications include PTC Windchill, Siemens Xpedition Engineering Data Management, and other custom built applications serving RTX employees, partners, and suppliers.

What will you do:

  • Install vendor applications, coordinate with external IT resources, and perform code deployments, configuration changes, and system updates.

  • Execute maintenance plans, perform vendor-recommended tasks, maintain vault space, and manage log/temp file cleanup and remote file server setups.

  • Review servers, alerts, and logs for issues using monitoring tools, develop test plans, debug issues, and perform root cause analysis.

  • Monitor CPU, RAM, disk space, and user growth for future planning, and coordinate resources and schedules for development, test, and production activities.

  • Maintain system/application documentation, provide on-call critical support, and collaborate with tier 1 and 2 analysts.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience in debugging, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale virtualized Java, .Net, and applications that are configured in a three-tier secure architecture that supports internal and external collaboration.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the engineering management system due to government data requirements.

  • Experience managing and troubleshooting applications on both Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Ability to effectively discuss, describe, and document situations, problems, or ideas to clearly communicate with team members, leaders, and customers.

  • Ability to interface with technical and non-technical staff at all levels.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of automation and development tools (PowerShell, Bash, Ant).

  • 3+ years experience in PTC Windchill application troubleshooting

  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL scripting.

  • Understanding of Engineering/Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts and tools

  • AWS Cloud, CompTIA A+, or Security+ certifications.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
