English to German - Legal (Judiciary) Translator and /or Editor
Be an Early Applicant
Provide freelance English-to-German legal translation and/or editing services for a U.S. Government judiciary client. Translate legal content using accurate U.S. legal and technical terminology, apply CAT tools and Trados, maintain excellent language quality, and support ongoing, as-needed assignments. Applicants must be native German speakers, U.S. citizens, available during most 9–5 EST hours, and willing to undergo security clearance processing and fingerprinting.
This is a remote position.

Global Language Strategies seeks a freelance / contract linguist (legal translator and/or editor to perform legal services for a United States Government client. Must possess at least three years of experience translating and/or editing legal content with knowledge of correct U.S. legal and technical terms in English to German. This is a freelance, as-needed position and is ongoing.

Requirements
Qualifications include:
- Three years of experience providing professional legal language services.
- Native German language skills are required.
- Extensive legal language service experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, or comparable field required.
- Must be able to use CAT tools (if translator or editor); experience using Trados required.
- Excellent organizational skills and understanding of language services.
- Advanced proficiency in reading/writing/listening and speaking in English and the target foreign language(s).
- Available during 9-5 EST most days to take on-demand assignments at least 15 hours per week if needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
