We are monday.com, a global software company transforming how businesses run. Our product suite can adapt to the needs of diverse industries and use cases within one powerful platform, empowering ~245,000 customers worldwide to reimagine how work gets done, drive greater efficiency, and scale like never before.

With over 2,500 employees across the globe, we grow by prioritizing transparency and knowledge sharing. We care about the impact you make, not the hours you clock, so we encourage initiative, ownership, and fresh thinking. We back our people with flexible work, wellness and mental health support, and a work environment built on collaboration.

About the Team

The Autopilot group builds monday.com’s workflows and automation engine. With over 2 billion automated workflows executed monthly, our solutions help millions of users reduce manual work and operate more efficiently. We focus on performance, reliability, and a seamless experience that empowers teams to get more done, faster.

We’re looking for an Engineering Tech Lead to take a hands-on leadership role in our Autopilot Workflows group. In this role, you’ll drive technical excellence, establish engineering best practices, and build robust infrastructure that powers exceptional user experiences. This is more than just building scalable systems — it’s about creating a product people love, making automation fun, intuitive, and effortless.

About The Role
  • Build high-quality, scalable infrastructure and tools that power monday.com’s automation engine and drive exceptional user experiences
  • Design and implement the foundation of a platform that enables users to fully automate their work — efficiently and enjoyably
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ship features that are fast, reliable, and intuitive
  • Lead engineering excellence by setting high standards for code quality, testing, performance, and developer velocity
  • Stay hands-on — writing code, leading design sessions, and unblocking others with technical guidance
  • Constantly challenge how we can make automation simpler, more powerful, and more fun
  • Our stack includes Node.js, Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, Kubernetes, AWS, Redis, MySQL, and more. We work in a microservices and microfrontends environment and ship iteratively to deliver value fast

Requirements
  • Led end-to-end development of user-facing features in complex, high-scale products, delivering measurable user impact
  • Built fast, polished UIs using modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React), and integrated seamlessly with backend services
  • Delivered great product experiences through close collaboration with product and design, always prioritizing usability and speed
  • Mentored engineers and influenced technical direction through hands-on leadership and high-quality standards

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
