About the Role

To support our growth, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead part of our FinData Experience organization. This group is responsible for building all the quantitative features in our products. This includes industry comps, models, and company metrics both on web as well as served in our companion excel add-in. The right manager will provide unique, diverse perspectives to not only support their own team, but all of engineering, product and design at Alphasense.

What You'll Do

  • As a technical leader, you’ll manage 1 - 3 full stack engineering teams that own specific parts of the AlphaSense product offering.
  • You will hire and mentor a team of top tier engineers.
  • You will work directly with multiple stakeholders in our product and design as well as other engineering leads and managers to ensure we’re building solutions that solve business problems the right way.
  • You will guide your teams to build robust, well-designed and effective software that solves complex problems, including testing, reviewing and deploying code quickly. AlphaSense values technical leaders that are able to guide architectural and technical decisions, as well as getting hands-on as needed.
  • You will contribute to the broader engineering teams practices and culture. As an early stage company, AlphaSense needs engineering managers that will help to define and shape our team.

Who You Are

  • You have managed engineers, with a passion for developing and growing people as they progress on their career journey, working in a fast-paced, startup environment using Agile development methodologies.
  • You are an experienced software engineer that solves complex engineering problems to delight users and drive business results. Even if you aren’t coding regularly, you are able to provide technical thought leadership and code review feedback.
  • You are a great communicator that can partner well with your customers, stakeholders, and your team to keep everyone aligned and motivated.
  • You are forward-thinking and able to analyze and anticipate project, technology and team solutions to ensure successful project delivery.
  • You have a team-first mentality and you work collaboratively with different stakeholders to set the technical direction for our products, developing easy-to-use solutions for our customers.
  • You are highly organized. With many people doing many things in a dynamic company, strong organizational skills—both for yourself and for the team—will be required.
  • You may have experience with Python, Node, GraphQL and Typescript, but not required.

For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. You may also be offered a performance-based bonus, equity, and a generous benefits program.
