At MNTN, we put our people first, full stop. This allows our company culture to be defined by our team members and their shared values, like trust, ambition, quality, radical honesty, and compassionate leadership. It’s why we all really love working for the Hardest Working Software in Television™ (and also why we were named one of Ad Age’s Best Places To Work in 2024.)

We pride ourselves on bringing unrivaled performance and simplicity to Connected TV advertising. Our self-serve technology makes running TV ads as easy as search and social, helping brands drive measurable conversions, revenue, site visits, and more. It’s what led MNTN to being named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies in 2023. You can learn more about us and everything we do by visiting https://mountain.com/.

We’re committed to innovation that empowers, not replaces. At MNTN, AI is a tool for growth, enhancing efficiency while keeping a people-first approach. Our goal is to streamline workflows and drive new solutions—without compromising the human element that makes our company great.

So if wanting to do more, own more, and make a bigger impact comes naturally to you, then you may be the person we're looking for to join us in our next stage of growth.

We’re on the hunt for an Engineering Manager for our QuickFrame Marketplace team who doesn’t just manage—but inspires. Think of this as your chance to help shape a platform where brands and creators connect to produce advertising that people actually enjoy. You’ll lead a team of full-stack engineers building serverless apps that scale like a dream and user experiences so smooth they deserve their own soundtrack. Along the way, you’ll foster innovation, keep quality and reliability rock-solid, and guide engineers to become their very best. If you’re the kind of leader who loves solving complex problems, mentoring brilliant minds, and building products that make a real impact, we’d love to talk.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead & Grow: Build, coach, and mentor a talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive Technical Excellence: Partner with our Lead Staff Engineer to guide architecture decisions across frontend and backend systems, from serverless infrastructure to cloud services and APIs.

  • Collaborate Fearlessly: Work closely with Design, Project Management, and Product teams to translate bold ideas into elegant technical solutions.

  • Shape the Roadmap: Partner with our Technical Program Manager to turn business requirements into clear, actionable engineering goals.

  • Champion Innovation: Introduce modern frameworks, tools, and best practices that push our platform—and our people—forward.

  • Own the Outcomes: Ensure delivery, quality, and reliability at scale, with systems that our customers (and engineers) can trust.

  • Build Bridges: Keep communication flowing between engineering, design, and customer support so that the customer experience shines from every angle.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience managing product-oriented engineering teams.
  • Strong technical foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Next.js.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) and serverless architectures.
  • Proficiency with RESTful API design and event-driven systems; familiarity with tRPC is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices: Agile, Git/SVN, CI/CD, and release management.
  • Ability to balance leadership with occasional hands-on contributions when needed.
  • Experience collaborating with UI/UX designers to deliver user-focused solutions.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers, manage multiple priorities, and deliver impactful projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to bridge technical execution with business needs.

MNTN Perks:

  • 100% remote within the US
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • Annual vacation allowance for travel related expenses
  • Three-day weekend every month of the year
  • Competitive compensation
  • 100% healthcare coverage
  • 401k plan
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for dependent, medical, and dental care
  • Access to coaching, therapy, and professional development

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
