It’s why we all really love working for the Hardest Working Software in Television™ (and also why we were named one of Ad Age’s Best Places To Work in 2024.)

We pride ourselves on bringing unrivaled performance and simplicity to Connected TV advertising. Our self-serve technology makes running TV ads as easy as search and social, helping brands drive measurable conversions, revenue, site visits, and more. We’re committed to innovation that empowers, not replaces. At MNTN, AI is a tool for growth, enhancing efficiency while keeping a people-first approach. Our goal is to streamline workflows and drive new solutions—without compromising the human element that makes our company great.

So if wanting to do more, own more, and make a bigger impact comes naturally to you, then you may be the person we're looking for to join us in our next stage of growth.

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who wants to do more than just lead—they want to build something extraordinary. Our team is creating an AI-powered video editor that lets people mix stock footage, AI-generated magic, and their own content to make videos at lightning speed. Think: Hollywood meets hackathon. You’ll guide a talented group of full-stack engineers, scaling systems that can handle the future of video, while mentoring bright minds and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with generative AI. If solving complex problems, growing great teams, and shaping the future of creative tools excites you—you might’ve just found your next adventure.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead & Elevate: Grow, coach, and mentor a diverse team of engineers, building a culture where innovation, curiosity, and collaboration thrive.

  • Set the Technical Bar High: Partner with our Lead Principal Engineer to provide oversight on architectures spanning generative AI, cloud infrastructure, and full-stack development.

  • Own the Roadmap: Work hand-in-hand with Product, Program Management, Design, and Engineering leaders to turn ambitious ideas into tangible, scalable products.

  • Embrace Innovation: Champion new tools, frameworks, and technologies—especially in generative AI and video editing—that take our product to the next level.

  • Bridge Teams: Ensure seamless alignment across engineering, design, and customer support so every customer-facing feature feels effortless.

  • Deliver with Confidence: Drive operational excellence with efficient processes that guarantee speed, quality, and reliability at scale.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience managing product-oriented engineering teams.
  • Strong technical background in full-stack development (TypeScript, React, Node.js).
  • Experience with LLMs or generative AI models in production.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices: Agile, Git/SVN, CI/CD, and release management.
  • Ability to balance leadership with occasional hands-on contributions when needed.
  • Experience collaborating with UI/UX designers and translating product requirements into technical solutions.
  • Exceptional people leadership skills—mentoring, guiding, scaling, and delegating.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong track record of managing multiple priorities and driving projects from inception to launch.

MNTN Perks:

  • 100% remote within the US
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • Annual vacation allowance for travel related expenses
  • Three-day weekend every month of the year
  • Competitive compensation
  • 100% healthcare coverage
  • 401k plan
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for dependent, medical, and dental care
  • Access to coaching, therapy, and professional development

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
