As a senior Engineering Manager for Quality Assurance, you will lead a group of talented QA teams by managing and developing their respective QA Managers. You'll be a leader of leaders, responsible for the overall quality, strategy, and execution within your product domain. This role requires a strong ability to scale quality practices, mentor other leaders, and drive technical and operational excellence. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture where quality is a shared responsibility, ensuring the delivery of reliable, high-performing products.
What You'll Do:- Organizational Leadership: Lead a multi-team Quality Assurance organization. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of first-line QA Managers, guiding them to become exceptional leaders.
- Strategic Execution: Define and drive the quality assurance strategy and roadmap for your group. Align your teams' goals and technical direction with broader business and product objectives.
- Scale and Process: Drive the execution of quality initiatives across multiple teams. Develop and implement scalable processes, frameworks, and tooling to improve engineering velocity and product quality.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner effectively with peer leaders and stakeholders in Engineering, Product, and Design to influence product roadmaps and ensure quality is a foundational component of the development lifecycle.
- Operational Excellence: Own the operational health of your QA organization. Establish and monitor key quality metrics, guide your teams through planning and execution, and drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency.
- Technical Mentorship: Foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Provide technical guidance to your managers and teams on best practices in test automation, performance engineering, and modern QA methodologies.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- Crucially, a minimum of 2-3 years of direct experience managing other managers or team leads.
- Demonstrated ability to set a technical vision and strategy for a group of engineering teams.
- Proven track record of scaling teams and processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep knowledge of modern QA methodologies, test automation strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
- Agile Expertise: Well-versed and experienced in running projects using Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
- Strong experience with organizational planning and developing the careers of both managers and individual contributors.
