About the Role:
We are looking for a Machine Learning and Data Science Engineering Manager to lead our emerging AI/ML team. The ideal candidate should have deep technical knowledge of machine learning systems and data science methodologies, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to develop high-performing teams. Key responsibilities include fostering a collaborative culture, driving career growth, and aligning AI/ML strategy with the overall engineering vision to enhance threat detection and provide actionable intelligence for critical infrastructure protection.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, driving their technical growth and professional development.
  • Champion the vision and execution of production-grade AI/ML systems for Industrial Control System (ICS) / Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity use cases.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to consistently define AI/ML architecture and solution strategies.
  • Foster a strong technical community by developing close relationships amongst Engineering Managers.
  • Establish and drive engineering best practices for AI/ML development lifecycle including data governance, model validation, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Provide guidance during model design, development, testing, and release of AI/ML capabilities.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects, balancing technical debt and innovation in machine learning systems.
  • Ensure support for fielded AI/ML production deployments in resource-constrained environments.
  • Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and research to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
  • Build hiring plans and recruit top-tier talent to scale the team as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of engineering management experience, consistently building and leading highly effective technical teams with demonstrated success directly supervising small teams of senior engineers
  • Strong technical background in machine learning, data science, and production AI/ML systems
  • Prior experience as an engineer with strong working knowledge of technologies such as Python, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
  • Comfortable with hands-on development or troubleshooting of AI/ML systems
  • Management experience with Agile and working in cross-functional Product Teams
  • Experience with natural language processing, time series analysis, anomaly detection, and classification systems
  • Hands-on experience productionizing LLM-based / Generative AI capabilities (e.g., retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, model fine-tuning) is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity threat detections, threat intelligence, or ICS/OT security

Compensation:

  • Salary: $205,000
