Job Summary

The Applications Lab Intern is responsible for working as a team member to support the development of laser welding and/or Laser cleaning processes. The successful candidate must have the ability to learn new skills quickly and follow established company practices.

 

Duties:

  • Support applications team in Marlborough, MA with development of new laser welding and Laser cleaning Manufacturing processes for customers.
  • Operate robotic & CNC machines; execute test plans and or DOE’s
  • Cut, polish, and analyze Weld cross sections and analyze test results.
  • Complete summer internship project on topic of interest to IPG.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing work.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience Desired:

  • Enrolled in an engineering degree  or a technical school program; Mechanical Engineering, Weld Engineering Technology preferred
  • Familiarity with metallographic equipment for cutting, polishing and measuring of weld specimens
  • Knowledge of basic welding principles and practices
  • Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Aptitude to learn new systems and technologies
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation

 

Pay Range

MA: $25.00 - $33.00/hr
