About Minerva:

Minerva Analytics, the latest team to emerge from Cogo’s proven incubator model, is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to join our team. Using Cogo’s extensive data warehouse, the Minerva team is building communities of users on the internet through a combination of rapid-development web property tools, scalable user acquisition, and extensive competitive and performance analysis. At our core we are a media company that employs data-driven, analytical methodologies to create profitable web businesses.

About the role:

As the Vice President of Engineering you will have the opportunity to scale the Minerva engineering team beyond its current size to support 30 engineers across all functions by 2021. You will come in on the ground floor of Minerva to build out the engineering function for a rapidly growing company with aggressive expansion goals in the coming year.

What you will do:

  • Work directly with the CEO and analytics department to support our platform roadmap and ensure its implementation throughout the development life cycle
  • Focus on core technology that is both email and web/mobile app-focused 
  • Ensure that our platform supports dozens of mobile/web applications with 50M+ unique users per month 
  • Collaborate with product teams to understand and translate requirements, ensuring specifications and architecture design meet broader technical strategic goals
  • Promote, document, and implement systems infrastructure best practices, building tools that allow the department to develop and deploy impeccable sites/software
  • Coach team members both on coding practices and in making business-driven decisions

 Who you are:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development 
  • 3+ of experience acting as a technical lead 
  • Experience hiring and managing a team
  • Experience building large-scale systems 
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end web development frameworks 
  • Knowledge and mastery of relational databases 
  • Exposure to big data and consumer internet is a plus
