System Integration and Test Engineer for Safety Critical Systems
MORSE is an innovative, employee-owned, tech company located in Kendall Square in Cambridge, MA specializing in solving multi-disciplinary problems faced by the US National Security Ecosystem. Our specially selected team of engineers, software developers and scientists develop algorithms, software integrated prototypes and solutions for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Manned and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Mission Planning, and Situational Awareness.
The System Integration and Test Engineer for Safety Critical Systems will have a leadership role on projects involving both manned and unmanned systems, in a safety critical military operational environment. The candidate should be able to work with engineers across a variety of domains in a rapidly-changing R&D environment. The candidate should be comfortable taking full responsibility for complex system activities during design, prototype, and production handoff phases. The candidate must be eager to learn new technologies and stay on top of the latest trends in prototyping, sensing, robotics, and vehicle design. The candidate must be comfortable working in a prototyping environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with basic circuit design, electronics fabrication, soldering, microprocessor programming, 3D printing, and general vehicle fabrication techniques. Most importantly, the candidate must be passionate about building things and solving problems!
Responsibilities
Perform system-level integration of software and hardware components to validate system performance in a military operational environment
Develop probabilistic models and conduct data analysis to evaluate, document, troubleshoot, and correct system/subsystem anomalies found during testing
Perform requirements tracking through Manufacturing Readiness Levels 4-8
Perform FMECA analysis to assist in system level design
Define and execute requirement verification test procedures and test reporting
Evaluate, select, and manage partners in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
Skills
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
5-10 years’ experience in system design, integration, and testing for safety critical systems in a military operational environment
Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Experience with safety standards such as IEC 61508
Experience with Design For Manufacturability
Experience partnering with High-mix, Low-volume manufacturers in the DoD space
Solid understanding of physics, linear algebra, statistics, algorithms, analysis, modeling, and simulation methods for aerospace systems
Good communication skills
Self-starter and driven
Bachelors (Masters preferred) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field
