Systems Sustaining/Operations Associate

CA Veracode is looking for a new team-member to join our Static Analysis Operations team.  These resources will be comfortable working with code as they are in operating servers and systems.  We seek individuals that are accustomed to looking for solutions to problems and aren’t afraid to implement them.  We need resources that can work from a local desktop, a remote server, or a cloud deployed system with equal effect.

These Engineers work with both CA Veracode’s development and support teams to continually improve our Static Analysis Engine technologies.  They will also work with customer contacts to determine required improvements or fixes to our systems.  This requires an ability to troubleshoot software execution, determine root-cause and communicate that information to software engineering and support teams.

These Engineers are responsible for assisting in the help of the static engine environment, software deployments, tier-3 intervention/support, and overall environmental health.  They will need an understanding of software environments, server system environments (minimally Windows, ideally Linux as well), and platform environments (physical data-centers, virtualization, cloud-service).  These resources will need to have a functional knowledge of working in Microsoft Visual Studio environments and working with debug-level software, including the ability to pull useful information from debug runs.

Required Skills/Experience: 

 

• 1-3 (or more) years of experience in a professional software or technology environment
• Experience with Java and/or C/C++
• Experience working with Software IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.)
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills
• An understanding of software development practices
• Comfortable in technology operation practices
• Being able to multi-task and keep multiple projects moving simultaneously
• Must have ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule – once every 6-8 weeks
• Ability to clearly communicate very technical issues to non-technical audiences

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Degree in Information Technologies, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience in working in cloud-based environments (preferably AWS)
• A familiarity with database technologies and an ability to query them
• Proficiency in additional languages (PHP, Python, PERL, or JavaScript) to create automation
• Systems administration/configuration experience with enterprise class Windows operating systems (Linux is a plus)
• Understanding of software operating in different environments (standard, mobile, web, cloud)
• Knowledgeable in identifying and remediating software vulnerabilities
• DevOps support experience including use of CI/CD automation tools (Jenkins preferred)
