As an extension of that mission, we are exploring new opportunities to deliver value via Software as a Medical Device. This will propel WHOOP into the broader health and wellness arena with a creditable solution enabling us to further move the needle on public health.

As a Tech Lead on the FDA team, you’ll be leading the development of a brand new product offering. A key component to leading the team will be developing software under a Quality Management System (QMS) that is compliant with the FDA guidelines. In addition, you will be collaborating with quality, legal, and other engineering teams to assess risk, development mitigation strategies, and play a vital role in ensuring compliance is met.

The right candidate should be excited about building a product from the ground up with quality and compliance as a first order concern.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive cross-team and cross-department collaborations.
• Develop end-to-end solutions for FDA cleared solutions.
• Define and iterate on our SOP’s to maintain our compliance.
• Execute as a partial individual contributor defining architecture and iterating on products and features.
• Work with containerized systems such as Docker 
• Work on scaling challenges that span multiple systems that demand high availability, performance, and stability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• You are experienced in working in the Waterfall model or similar forms of the SDLC and have 7+ years of experience developing software.
• You have worked on products that fall under strict regulatory compliance requirements. Experience with IEC 62304 and 21 CFR Part 820 would be a bonus
• Experienced in designing and building APIs and background workers in Java & Python
• You are experienced with utilizing relational databases
• You are experienced working with cloud providers such as AWS
• You are experienced in mentoring engineers in best practices in software development
• You are a team player who thrives on continuous learning and direct feedback
