Minerva Analytics, the latest team to emerge from Cogo’s proven incubator model, is seeking a Sr.Software Engineer to join our team! Using Cogo’s extensive data warehouse, the Minerva team is building communities of users on the internet through a combination of rapid-development web property tools, scalable user acquisition, and extensive competitive and performance analysis. At our core we are a media company that employs data-driven, analytical methodologies to create profitable web businesses.
About the job:
This is a Sr. Software Engineering position on our rapidly growing Engineering team. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining high quality software to improve Minerva's products, libraries, and development processes. The Sr. Software Engineer role is crucial to the developmental success of our products.
What you will do:
- Build maintainable and performant software in many diverse areas (web apps, backend processes internal libraries, SQL query sets, etc.)
- Architect solutions for difficult technical problems
- Mentor other engineers by providing debug assistance, thorough code reviews, and guidance on best practices
- Prioritize day to day engineering tasks for other engineers working on the same project
- Work in a fast paced, data-driven environment.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Extremely familiar with designing, implementing, and working with REST APIs.
- Experience designing relational DB architectures for medium to large scale projects.
- An excellent verbal and written communicator who can work directly with technical and non-technical project managers.
- A team player who’s eager to help onboard and train younger engineers.
- Have a portfolio of projects with viewable source code on their resume.
Bonus points for:
- Professional experience building applications using Django and/or React.
- Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes based deployment systems.
- Expert-level skill with something unrelated to computers (Legos, an instrument, carpentry, precision ax-throwing, anything).
