The SourceClear platform scans thousands of applications a day at every stage of the software development process. We strive to be the index of the worlds open source library and vulnerability data and use this data to give our customers actionable insights. Software composition analysis (SCA) isn’t just about telling customers about a problem, it’s about helping them view what’s inside the code, where the problems are in that code and then providing actions to take to solve those problems.

We are looking for someone who wants to help us build the application security platform for modern software development.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Implement well designed and well tested APIs that expose our open source knowledge to the world.
• Integrate SourceClear with external systems to provide visibility and insights.
• Develop scalable, highly available systems within SourceClear's microservice architecture.
• Develop new or improve systems to monitor the state of the open source world.

Desired Attributes in a Candidate:

• Strong computer science fundamentals and consistent attention to detail

• A strong eye for good design and testing to build assurances into the development lifecycle
• An interest in the world of open source.
• Curiosity and passion for creating and building new web services.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of software development experience in Java (Spring framework) and some experience with JavaScript (React).  Go experience preferred.
• SQL experience, Postgres preferred.
• Experience with at least two of the following: JVM, basic cryptographic techniques, security protocols, Linux-based systems.
• Proficiency in designing, building, and debugging distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud providers, preferably AWS
• A basic understanding of networking concepts including subnets and routing.
• Knowledge of containers, including (but not limited to) Docker, and a container orchestration platform (preferably Kubernetes)
• A mindset to always push for automation with CI/CD systems, such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Travis, or similar
