Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a customer-centric, Sr. Email Marketing Developer who will support the email marketing program for Chewy’s most active and pet-obsessed customers.  This role will be responsible for the front-end development, management, and optimization of the technical framework of the email marketing channel to increase customer engagement and drive incremental sales.  The position can be based in Boston, MA and requires a passionate individual obsessed with creating an exceptional customer experiences.

What You'll Do:

• Code responsive emails for various promotional, lifecycle, and transactional campaigns using the latest HTML and CSS email oriented best practices
• Create highly personalized scalable dynamic content modules using Oracle Responsys Templating Language (RPL) and HTML/CSS
• Work closely with developers, and email marketing team members to successfully implement email campaigns
• Own email campaigns readability and accurate rendering across all major email clients and devices
• Utilize Moveable Ink platform for image personalization, live optimization and advanced campaign testing
• Be a part of an innovative team and channel that is passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences

What You'll Need:

• Expert knowledge in email HTML and CSS
• Experience creating responsive, adaptive, and fluid/hybrid emails
• 5+ years of email development and/or direct marketing experience; ecommerce preferred
• Experience with an enterprise level ESP and project management tools (JIRA) required
• Operates independently and efficiently to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and successfully, without sacrificing attention to detail
• Be knowledgeable on email best practices, technologies, and trends.
• Experience using enterprise ESPs like Responsys, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and others
• Understanding of relational data architecture concept and data types
• Working knowledge and understanding of media queries and email scripting languages such as Responsys Programming Language (RPL), AMPscript, JavaScript or Freemarker; is a plus
• Be an excellent critical thinker with creative solutions to solve challenges and meet business requirements
• Be able to work independently as well as collaborate with other members of the email team
• Experience using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
• E-commerce or digital agency experience is a plus
• Understanding of CAN-SPAM and other legal regulations
