Corvus Insurance seeks a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our early stage technology team. We are a dynamic team of entrepreneurial professionals with backgrounds in insurance and technology creating a commercial insurance company that combines the latest technology with traditional insurance. You will be instrumental in building robust and scalable software systems for our users.
Responsibilities
You will design and develop software systems that delight our end users (insurance brokers, insurance buyers, and Corvus staff)
You will help build maintainable, scalable systems and that are thoroughly tested
You will mentor less-experienced engineers, review code, and teach the engineering group better practices
You will interact with customers on a regular basis, trying to understand their problems
You will work with our support team to diagnose production issues and fix them as quickly as possible
You will be an active, creative, agile team member that pushes new features and code every iteration
Qualifications
5+ years of experience developing and deploying advanced web based applications and services into staging and production environments
You understand when it’s better to write a comment vs. self-documenting code
You are proficient at debugging production issues
You can effectively teach other engineers new techniques
You find defects and architectural problems when reviewing code
You can write systems that will scale beyond today’s expected usage
You’re comfortable working at a startup which moves fast with tight deadlines
You collaborate well with others and are dedicated to the company’s success
