As a Solutions Engineer supporting the Auto Portfolio for Products and Underwriting within GRM US Technology, you will be part of a growing team that is merging our foundational technology with cutting edge modernization techniques. This role is responsible for guiding technical direction, coaching and mentoring, providing innovative insight, and advocating industry knowledge to deliver customer-centric business outcomes for the platform. The technology stack spans across many specialties, including: Java, AWS, Spring Boot, Javascript, Tomcat, SQL & NoSQL, DB2, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Aion.

Qualifications
Experience

Minimum of 10 years of related software engineering experience
Extensive knowledge of software architecture, contemporary frameworks, and emerging technologies
A comprehensive understanding of agile environments
A history of practicing DevOps, CI/CD and building cloud-based applications
A strong background in business operations and strategies, including knowledge of technology trends in the financial services industry

Skills

Solid negotiation, facilitation, consensus building and influencing capabilities
Ability to identify patterns and problems across teams and deliver effective solutions
Openness and adaptability to respond to fast-moving circumstances
A design thinking and test-driven development mindset
Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an aptitude for working in teams

Knowledge

Experience developing or architecting cloud-based, responsive web applications using Java, Spring Boot, Javascript/Typescript/Angular, and AWS technologies
Experience across existing domains such as CFA, CFP, CSW, Output, PA, Pricing, or PCA is highly desirable
Experience with refactoring and decomposing a monolithic architecture
Strong background in code review
High-level proficiency with client-side JavaScript frameworks, server-side frameworks, and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with event-based System of Engagement architectures and integration with API exposing microservices
Deep understanding of layered solutions and designs
Cognizance of security concerns, from access control and authentication to secured SDLC processes

Education

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience

On a typical day, after the morning Agile Scrum meeting, his team taps into pair programming, collaborative design and knowledge sharing to brainstorm solutions.
