The Team

The Digital Experience team, part of MassMutual's Enterprise Technology & Experience organization, designs, builds, and supports the company's digital assets for customers and financial professionals. Digital Experience is composed of collaborative, diverse, cross-functional teams who like to have fun. To help us achieve our mission, we are hiring team-oriented Automation Engineers at all levels to help us take our customer and financial professional experiences to the next level.
The Role and your impact
As an Automation Engineer at MassMutual, you will have the opportunity to:
Build automation against various digital technologies that allow our developers to develop at speed;
Impact design decisions from a quality perspective at both a team level and organization level;
Work with a highly skilled community of SDETs who love to both learn and teach;
Drive innovation to continue to evolve our tools;
Work with cutting edge tools in visual, accessibility, reporting and API testing;
Execute tests in a highly multithreaded environment with both internal and external cloud nodes;
Work with fully containerized tools and infrastructure; and
Envision creative solutions to technical challenges.
The Qualifications
An ideal candidate for this role will have:
At least 1 year of experience building Automated tests using tools such as: Selenium, Appium, Watir, Ruby or Java, Page Objects, and Gherkin (We are hiring at all levels);
Experience with containerization;
An understanding of manual test processes;
A collaborative approach to technical problem solving;
An understanding BDD/TDD methods;
Exposure to DRY and Clean code practices;
A love for using data to drive decisions to help build better patterns and solutions;
A passion for working on cross-functional teams and collaborating with other teams across MassMutual to deliver high-quality customer experiences;
Experience testing REST based APIs to build applications; and
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or similar technical field of study with practical experience.
