Cricket Health is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to our growing team in our Cambridge office, to help scale our applications for improving the outcomes of patients with kidney disease. Your typical week would include writing code, writing tests, looking at others’ code and helping them make it better, deploying to production, designing future software, and communicating with other software engineers (and non-engineers) about all of the above. Solid, readable, well-tested code is more important to us than the quickest thing you can deploy to production (though we like to move fast, too). We use well-known technologies like Javascript, Node, and React. We’re in this for the long-haul (it is healthcare, after all), so we also reflect back on how we can improve our processes and get better for the next time (and what we want to learn along the way). Most importantly, you get to be the connection between software that serves the needs of its users, and helping our patients live their best lives.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience building and running production web applications
  • Clear communication, both in writing and in conversation
  • Love building things that solve the problems of real people
  • Team player, enjoy helping others around you be successful
  • Solid TDD fundamentals
  • Believe in shipping early and often
  • Enjoy mentoring colleagues
  • Have a passion for making a meaningful impact on the health of our users, irrespective of their situation
  • Willing and legally able to work in the United States

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the healthcare system and how health systems operate, especially in a value-based setting
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, especially technical integrations
  • Familiarity working with PHI in a HIPAA-compliant environment
  • Exposure to DevOps concepts and interest in infrastructure-as-code
  • Significant Javascript experience (ES6+)
  • Substantial React experience
  • A passion for blending the best of what technology can do with what humans are best at
  • A degree in Computer Science or related field

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and vacation
  • Stock options + extended option exercise window
  • Generous health, dental, vision and parental leave policies
  • Contributions for 401k retirement savings plans
  • Commitment to building and maintaining an inclusive team
